VOYAGEURII™ is a powerful programmable multi-processor DSP platform with a unique reconfigurable architecture. VoyageurII is ideal for audio-related applications that demand ultra low power consumption, programmable flexibility and compact size. The platform is supported with a complete suite of development tools, including GUIDE™, which offers developers a complete solution for firmware development, debugging and testing.
VoyageurII boasts a unique multi-processor reconfigurable architecture that contains a mix of programmable DSP cores and fixed-function hardware blocks. This architecture delivers the flexibility of a general-purpose DSP solution, while leveraging the efficiency of fixed-function hardware blocks for tasks such as FFT/IFFT operations, filtering, feedback cancellation and time-domain based processing. This unique approach makes VoyageurII an extremely flexible and power efficient solution.
The reconfigurable coprocessor fabric allows designers to choose which blocks in the coprocessor array will be used for processing, and in which order audio should be routed to the various blocks. This allows the firmware developer ultimate flexibility in terms of which coprocessors are required in the algorithm, as well as providing advanced capabilities for parallel and side-chain based algorithmic processing. Blocks that are not used can be individually powered down. All blocks automatically enter a sleep mode (low power state) when finished processing audio samples.
Industry-Leading Development Environment
VoyageurII comes equipped with Sound Design Technologies' Open-Platform Development Kit, to assist developers at every stage from algorithm concept to final product firmware. The development kit consists of GUIDE, a development board, documentation, and applications support. Optional on-site training is also available.
GUIDE™ is a complete solution for firmware development, debugging and evaluation. GUIDE manages firmware projects, and features integrated project management, compilers, debugging, online help and profiling support.
Hybrid
The VoyageurII hybrid circuit uses Gennum's patented reflowable thinSTAX® packaging technology, enabling easy integration into a wide range of applications from CIC to BTE. Gennum provides COMMIF, a COMMunications InterFace library for VoyageurII, which supports most hearing instrument programmer boxes in the industry, and allows for easy integration of VoyageurII based products into existing fitting software.
